Themed Routes
The Points East Coastal Drive of Prince Edward Island provides the scenic splendor that an Island vacation should offer.  Within the eight Discovery Drives, there are five common themes that can be found throughout the region.  Each provides an activity or experience that will build on an Island vacation memory that lasts a life time.

Beaches
A day at the beach can mean quality family time on white sand, clam-digging on red sand, or  romantic strolls, beach glass-hunting and miles of photo opportunities.  Choose from over 30 locations, between five minutes and a one hour drive from your vacation homebase in eastern Prince Edward Island. more

Lighthouses
These beacons guided Islanders home and welcomed visitors from afar.  Today, they also serve as proud monuments of our traditional way of life.  Explore the lighthouse museums for an intriguing glimpse into the past and as a bonus, climb the light tower for spectacular views of a varied coastline.  Five of the seven Prince Edward Island lighthouses that are open for summer visitation are located on Points East Coastal Drive.  The oldest lighthouses are an octagonal shape. The newer lighthouses built after 1873 are four sided. more

Fishing and Harbours
Nautical heritage lives on in communities dotting the shoreline, and further inland.  Enjoy sport-fishing, sailing, seal/bird watching cruises, canoeing and kayaking, or explore eastern Prince Edward Island’s coastline in your own vessel. more
