Point of Interest
Built in 1881, this four-storey square tapered wooden structure overlooks rugged sandstone cliffs and looks out to the beautiful Northumberland Strait. The museum features a replica of the Cape Bear Marconi Station, believed to be the first Canadian land station to receive and forward distress signals from the Titanic on that fateful night of April 14,1912. Visit the artifacts of local community history.
The lighthouse is still operational and height is 12.4 meters. (36ft.). The museum features the reconstruction of the new wireless technology of the Marconi Station that was located on site from 1905 to 1922.
